Blondy: First of all, congratulations on our new album. Listening to the first track, "Cha-Cha-Cha", the opening plunges us into religious chants, intermingled with modern sounds a bit creepy. According to my sources (which I won't reveal), you were educated in catholicism, you were even an altar boy. Did this education play a role in your artistic orientation and does it still influence your choices today?
Brownie: Wow, it's much more complex than that! I was beautifully raised by a Catholic mom and an atheist dad, I am the result of their give and take. I was never an altar boy though, sweet Jesus, girls couldn't! It was a guy thing back then. But it is true that this song to the Virgin Mary during my first communion enlightened me and showed me the way... Later on, thanks to Jacques Martin (from l'École des fans), it was Chantal Goya who inspired me and led me, with Bérurier Noir, to be who I am today.
lyrics
Cha-Cha-Cha
C’est étrange quand j’y pense
Je ne résiste pas
Déjà, je m’en fous
Sur la piste de danse
Je me love dans tes bras
Le reste je m’en fous
Cha-cha-cha en cadence
Cha-cha-cha la romance
Insolente évidence
Tu balances devant moi
Ton flegme légendaire
J’abolis la décence
Et je fonds pas à pas
Mais tu vois, je m’en fous
Cha-cha-cha
Cha-cha-cha
Cha-cha-cha
Je sais bien qu’à part moi
D’autres dansent sur toi
Ils ne résistent pas
Mais rien ne me désespère
Quand je suis avec toi
Le reste je m’en fous
On est joue contre joue
Joue contre joue
Tu peux baisser les yeux
Baisser les yeux
Tu vois je m’en fous
Je m’en fous
Et si je te désespère
Tu peux rester en joue
Car tu vois je m’en fous
